We all speak in different ways. We speak not only with our words but also with our actions. How we spend our time at home, how we make money to survive in the world, the books we read, the websites that we visit. I do my best to regularly remind myself of why I'm doing the things that I am doing and what the purpose of those actions are. Working on my music, practicing drums/percussion and writing, reading books where I learn about the brain and how I can improve my brain function. Praying to my God and asking for others to pray for me. These are all things that make me who I am and reflect what I am seeking out to do in my life and how to be a better person.
There is more than 1 video out on the internet of Jim Carey speaking of his father who didn't try to be a comedian because he didn't think he could make it. He was an accountant and felt like having that "safe" job was a better way to go. When Jim was a kid, his father lost his job and they had to struggle to survive. Jim strongly feels that since there is a risk to lose you a job that you don't like, you might as well do you best to make a living doing something you love. It's an interesting place to be in, where I am in Nashville, as a working musician. I am getting work as a musician, but it's not as plentiful as I would like, and with all freelance work, even though I'm a busy it does not guarantee that I will continue to be busy for the coming months. But I have to remind myself that now is the time to try and do what I want to do now while I can and I don't have a family to support rather than to just get a safe job, like I did in New York, and then end up not being happy with my day-to-day life.
